What part of Asmodeanism resonates with Esta and feels natural to him?  All of it, of course.  But what part feels unusually incredibly exceptionally natural, in the sense of it actually resonating with his nature at all?

Esta had some time to consider that question, in a suitably altered form he was allowed to ask himself, in a long slow drift down a river, that is in some sense the longest stretch of quiet thought that Esta has had in three decades -- not counting, for obvious reasons, those hours of prayer in which Asmodeus's presence can be felt.
