Then he takes 20.

Then he starts rolling against Knowledge (Arcana) instead, in the sense of chanting a long rhyming list of every 1st-circle cleric spell taught to the barest apprentices, that he has not sung these last three decades.  For a cleric, unlike an arcane caster, needs to know of every spell they might request from their god, and cannot content themselves with only remembering what they have inscribed in a spellbook.
