"Back up.  'Property' doesn't just mean land, it means - the clothes you wear, the food your land produces, some of which you trade for shoes - can women own that or is it just that they can't own land?  Or did the faraway nobles also own all the food crops and shoes produced, and if so, how did anybody get shoes?"
