Korva, who was the last to raise her hand for the last exercise, and who has been calculating through another panic attack for the past twenty minutes, has now realized that the horrible feeling of wasting lots of time making errors in that she still doesn't understand on stupidly complicated problems was the point of all of this, that this incredibly painful classroom experience has all been an illustration specifically for the benefit of Carissa Sevar about why they shouldn't do things the way she suggested, even though there is no outward indication that the Chosen of Asmodeus herself experienced any distress about it at all at any point.
