"Do people who become clerics ever regret that?  Can you easily resign the position and pick another god if it doesn't work out?  Is successful prayer enough evidence of purpose-alignment that it never happens with a god you'd rather not partner with under reflective equilibrium?  Where what I'm wondering is if there any reason I should not just immediately do this with Asmodeus and cut out the middleman, in case that other cleric decided he actually needed to go cut his toenails first?"
